Meet Wombilee + Could Your Feminine Health Care Products Be Cancerous?

Meet Wombilee!

Last year, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to this new black + female owned natural sanitary napkin brand, Wombliee! by way of Bacon Magazine and have been in absolute love ever since. Believe it or not there are so many women who are still unaware of the dangers associated with using many of these “mainstream” pads, and tampons; some of which have been around since the 80’s!

What makes these products so harmful? Dioxins.

Dioxins are poisons found in your menstrual products. They are highly toxic and can cause reproductive and developmental problems, damage the immune system, interfere with hormones and also cause cancer. If you have a daughter, mother, sister or loved one that is still using conventional toxic menstrual products,

✨ SHARE THIS WITH THEM NOW! IT CAN SAVE A LIFE AND/OR THEIR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH! ✨

The manufacturing process for menstrual products has been known to cause serious damage to the environment. The toxic byproducts of producing tampons include poisons like dioxin and furan. In fact, conventional sanitary pads can contain the equivalence of about four plastic bags! Synthetics and plastic restricts air flow and traps heat and dampness, potentially promoting yeast and bacterial growth in a woman’s vaginal area. Conventional sanitary pads can also contain other potentially hazardous ingredients, such as odor neutralizers and fragrances.

How do tampons and pads get that ultra-white “clean” look?

Using chlorine bleach, it can also create toxic dioxin and other disinfection by-products. According to an EPA draft report, dioxin is a serious public health threat that has no “safe” level of exposure!

One infamous risk is Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), caused by poisonous toxins from bacteria. TSS is a life-threatening condition and mostly affects women under 30. While any woman using tampons can get TSS, more than 60% of fatalities caused by TSS happen in women ages 15 to 24.

Dioxins are found in tampons, sanitary pads throughout the world and in the environment. They accumulate in the food chain, mainly in the fatty tissue of animals.

More than 90% of human exposure is through food, mainly meat and dairy products, fish and shellfish. Many national authorities have programs in place to monitor the food supply.

Dioxins are highly toxic and can cause reproductive and developmental problems, damage the immune system, interfere with hormones and also cause cancer.

So imagine how truly enthused I am when meeting such an incredible team of women working towards eliminating these harmful products, and practices that we as women have been programmed to believe  were designed to benefit us.

Not only have we met, we have partnered up! Yassss Yoniversity X Wombilee! Get into it!
